Iconic Move Reformer Pilatesβ’.
Minutes
Iconic Move is our signature reformer pilates class, designed to improve strength, mobility, posture and overall body control. Using professional-grade reformer beds with adjustable spring resistance, every session delivers a full-body workout that can be scaled to suit complete beginners through to experienced practitioners.
Reformer pilates is the most popular class across Iconic Health Clubs. It runs multiple times daily at all four Dublin locations, with expert-led sessions available from early morning through to evening. Whether you are looking to build a stronger core, recover from injury, improve your flexibility or simply move better in everyday life, reformer pilates is one of the most effective and enjoyable ways to get there.

You work on a reformer bed, a sliding carriage attached to a frame by a set of weighted springs. As you push and pull the carriage through each exercise, the springs provide resistance that challenges your muscles through a full range of motion. Your instructor guides you through a structured sequence of movements targeting your core, legs, arms, back and glutes.
The spring system is what makes reformer pilates so adaptable. Adding springs increases the resistance for a harder workout. Removing springs reduces it for a gentler session. Your instructor will help you find the right setting for your level, and you can adjust throughout the class as needed.
Every movement emphasises control, alignment and breath. The pace is deliberate rather than rushed, which allows you to focus on technique and build strength through precise, intentional movement. This makes reformer pilates low impact by design, with the carriage and springs absorbing force and supporting your body throughout.
Sessions last 45 minutes.
Iconic Health Clubs offers several reformer pilates formats to suit different experience levels and goals.
Iconic Move (Smithfield, Camden St, IFSC) The signature all-levels reformer class. A full-body workout that combines functional movement, controlled resistance and mindful flow. Suitable for all fitness levels, with movements easily adjusted using the spring settings. This is the class to start with if you are new to the reformer.
Move Together (Dartry) A welcoming, adaptable reformer class for every experience level. Instructors provide supportive options for beginners alongside progressions for more advanced participants. Expect a mix of traditional reformer work and modern movement patterns, enhanced with props and varied spring settings. Everyone works at their own pace.
Move Power (Dartry) A challenging, high-tempo reformer class designed for experienced members. Expect demanding sequences, increased resistance and a heart-rate-raising pace while maintaining the technique reformer pilates is known for. Not suitable for beginners. Check with your instructor before attending for the first time.

If you have never used a reformer before, there is nothing to worry about. Your instructor will walk you through the machine before the class starts and show you how to adjust the springs and straps. Start with Iconic Move or Move Together, which are designed for all levels, and let your instructor know it is your first session. They will watch your form and offer guidance throughout.
The reformer looks more complex than it is. After one or two sessions, the setup will feel second nature and you will be able to focus entirely on the movements. We recommend starting with one or two classes per week and building from there as your body adapts.
Reformer pilates is the most frequently scheduled class at every Iconic Health Clubs location.

Reformer pilates pairs well with nearly everything else on the timetable. If you do strength classes like BodyPump or Functional Strength, reformer work develops the mobility, core stability and body awareness that supports better lifting technique. If you prefer high intensity sessions like HIIT Spin or Bootcamp, reformer classes provide active recovery and balance training that offsets the hard efforts. And if you are focused on flexibility and wellbeing, combining reformer pilates with yoga creates a comprehensive mind-body programme.
Many members use reformer pilates as the foundation of their weekly training and add other classes around it. The low-impact nature means you can attend several reformer sessions per week without the recovery demands of higher-intensity formats.
All reformer pilates classes are included with your Iconic Health Clubs membership at no extra cost. Book via the Iconic Health Clubs mobile app. Classes fill quickly, so booking in advance is recommended.
